Sync Bookmarks, Notes and Progress Across Devices

Which Quran Gallery data syncs to your account and which stays on the device, app by app, plus what happens signed out and how to delete it.

On this page

Quran Gallery has one account for every app. When you sign in, most apps save your data to that account, so it is there on your phone, your laptop and any other browser where you sign in. This page lists what syncs, what stays on the device, and what is missing.

How to sync

There is no sync switch. Sync follows sign-in.

  1. Open any app and press Sign in. You go to accounts.qurangallery.com.
  2. Sign in once. The same session works in every app, as described in Single sign-on.
  3. Sign in the same way on your other device. Your saved data loads there.

Signing out of one app signs you out of all of them. See Single sign-on for what that means for shared devices.

What syncs, app by app

AppSyncs to your account when you are signed inSigned out

AdhkarTasbeeh goals and counts, favourites and the lists you completeTasbeeh goals and counts stay on this device.
PrayerPrayer and sunnah logs, qaza and fasting tracker, and your prayer settingsSettings are kept in this browser. The tracker saves on this device and is imported when you sign in.

NaziraStreak, XP, hearts, gems and finished lessonsKept in this browser. Your first sign-in on that device moves it to your account.
ChatYour conversationsAsking a question needs an account. A shared conversation can be read without one.
StudioDesigns, with a version kept each time you saveDesigns stay in this browser. They do not sync and are not backed up.
RafiqSynced boardsA quick sketch stays on this device. Reopen it while signed in to move it to your account.

Some details that are easy to miss:

  • Adhkar streak and history are saved in the browser only, signed in or not. The Adhkar progress page can export them as CSV or JSON and import them on another device. See Tasbeeh counter.
  • Quran notes are private to your account. See Quran notes, sync and copying.
  • Listen merges what you saved signed out. When you sign in, items saved on this device are added to your account instead of being replaced.

Apps that are not in the table, such as Blog, Docs and Rijal, have nothing to save. Maktabah and Mirath are not listed because this page has not confirmed what they store.

What happens when you sign out

  • Your account data stays on your account. Signing out does not delete it.
  • The browser stops showing it. Sign in again to see it.
  • Anything you saved on this device while signed out stays in this browser. It is not copied to your account until the app imports it on sign-in, as the table says.
  • Clearing your browser data removes what is saved only on the device. For a Studio guest design or a Quick sketch, that means it is gone unless you downloaded it.

Limits

  • No bulk export. There is no button that downloads all your bookmarks, notes or progress. Adhkar exports its streak and history, and Studio downloads a design as an image or design file. For a copy of the data held about you, write to support@qurangallery.com.
  • No sync with other Quran apps. Notes written in Quran Gallery stay in Quran Gallery.

How to delete synced data

  1. Delete inside the app. Remove a bookmark or note in the Quran reader, a playlist in Listen, a conversation in Chat, a design in Studio or a board in Rafiq. See the app’s page in the table above.
  2. Delete your account. Delete your account signs you out everywhere and removes your sign-in details. It does not delete the data the apps saved. Delete that first, or ask support to remove it.
  3. Clear the device. Clear this site’s data in your browser settings to remove what is saved only on the device.

To ask for deletion of everything, use the support form or write to support@qurangallery.com. The support and feedback page lists every channel.

Questions

How do I sync my Quran bookmarks and notes to another device?

Sign in to your Quran Gallery account on both devices. Bookmarks and notes save to your account, so they appear wherever you sign in. There is nothing to switch on.

Does my progress sync if I am not signed in?

No. Signed out, most apps keep what they can on this device only, and the Quran reader cannot save bookmarks or notes at all. Sign in to keep it on your account.

Is there a sync button or a sync setting?

No. Sync follows sign-in. When you are signed in, the apps save to your account. When you sign out, they stop.

Can I export my bookmarks and notes?

Not in one file. There is no bulk export for Quran bookmarks or notes. Adhkar can export its streak and history as CSV or JSON, and Studio can download a design.

How do I delete the data that syncs?

Delete items inside each app, such as a bookmark, a note, a playlist or a chat. Deleting your account does not delete what the apps saved, so delete it first or write to support.
