Verses 7 Page 232 بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
فَلَمَّا فَلَمَّا
جَآءَ جَآءَ
أَمۡرُنَا أَمۡرُنَا
جَعَلۡنَا جَعَلۡنَا
عَٰلِيَهَا عَٰلِيَهَا
سَافِلَهَا سَافِلَهَا
وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا
عَلَيۡهَا عَلَيۡهَا
حِجَارَةٗ حِجَارَةٗ
مِّن مِّن
سِجِّيلٖ سِجِّيلٖ
مَّنضُودٖ مَّنضُودٖ
٨٢ ٨٢
And so when what We had ordained came about, We turned their town upside down and rained down stones of baked clay on it, layer upon layer,

مُّسَوَّمَةً مُّسَوَّمَةً
عِندَ عِندَ
رَبِّكَۖ رَبِّكَۖ
وَمَا وَمَا
هِيَ هِيَ
مِنَ مِنَ
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
بِبَعِيدٖ بِبَعِيدٖ
٨٣ ٨٣
marked from your Lord. It is not far from the evildoers.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
۞ وَإِلَىٰ ۞ وَإِلَىٰ
مَدۡيَنَ مَدۡيَنَ
أَخَاهُمۡ أَخَاهُمۡ
شُعَيۡبٗاۚ شُعَيۡبٗاۚ
قَالَ قَالَ
يَٰقَوۡمِ يَٰقَوۡمِ
ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱعۡبُدُواْ
ٱللَّهَ ٱللَّهَ
مَا مَا
لَكُم لَكُم
مِّنۡ مِّنۡ
إِلَٰهٍ إِلَٰهٍ
غَيۡرُهُۥۖ غَيۡرُهُۥۖ
وَلَا وَلَا
تَنقُصُواْ تَنقُصُواْ
ٱلۡمِكۡيَالَ ٱلۡمِكۡيَالَ
وَٱلۡمِيزَانَۖ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَۖ
إِنِّيٓ إِنِّيٓ
أَرَىٰكُم أَرَىٰكُم
بِخَيۡرٖ بِخَيۡرٖ
وَإِنِّيٓ وَإِنِّيٓ
أَخَافُ أَخَافُ
عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ
عَذَابَ عَذَابَ
يَوۡمٖ يَوۡمٖ
مُّحِيطٖ مُّحِيطٖ
٨٤ ٨٤
And to Midian, We sent their brother Shuayb. He said, ‘My people, worship God. You have no god other than Him. Do not give short measure nor short weight. I see you are prospering, but I fear you will have torment on an overwhelming Day.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَيَٰقَوۡمِ وَيَٰقَوۡمِ
أَوۡفُواْ أَوۡفُواْ
ٱلۡمِكۡيَالَ ٱلۡمِكۡيَالَ
وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ
بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖ
وَلَا وَلَا
تَبۡخَسُواْ تَبۡخَسُواْ
ٱلنَّاسَ ٱلنَّاسَ
أَشۡيَآءَهُمۡ أَشۡيَآءَهُمۡ
وَلَا وَلَا
تَعۡثَوۡاْ تَعۡثَوۡاْ
فِي فِي
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
مُفۡسِدِينَ مُفۡسِدِينَ
٨٥ ٨٥
My people, in fairness, give full measure and weight. Do not withhold from people things that are rightly theirs, and do not spread corruption in the land.

بَقِيَّتُ بَقِيَّتُ
ٱللَّهِ ٱللَّهِ
خَيۡرٞ خَيۡرٞ
لَّكُمۡ لَّكُمۡ
إِن إِن
كُنتُم كُنتُم
مُّؤۡمِنِينَۚ مُّؤۡمِنِينَۚ
وَمَآ وَمَآ
أَنَا۠ أَنَا۠
عَلَيۡكُم عَلَيۡكُم
بِحَفِيظٖ بِحَفِيظٖ
٨٦ ٨٦
What lasts with God is best for you, if you are believers: I am not your keeper.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
قَالُواْ قَالُواْ
يَٰشُعَيۡبُ يَٰشُعَيۡبُ
أَصَلَوٰتُكَ أَصَلَوٰتُكَ
تَأۡمُرُكَ تَأۡمُرُكَ
أَن أَن
نَّتۡرُكَ نَّتۡرُكَ
مَا مَا
يَعۡبُدُ يَعۡبُدُ
ءَابَآؤُنَآ ءَابَآؤُنَآ
أَوۡ أَوۡ
أَن أَن
نَّفۡعَلَ نَّفۡعَلَ
فِيٓ فِيٓ
أَمۡوَٰلِنَا أَمۡوَٰلِنَا
مَا مَا
نَشَٰٓؤُاْۖ نَشَٰٓؤُاْۖ
إِنَّكَ إِنَّكَ
لَأَنتَ لَأَنتَ
ٱلۡحَلِيمُ ٱلۡحَلِيمُ
ٱلرَّشِيدُ ٱلرَّشِيدُ
٨٧ ٨٧
They said, ‘Shuayb, does your prayer tell you that we should abandon what our forefathers worshipped and refrain from doing whatever we please with our own property? Indeed you are a tolerant and sensible man.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
قَالَ قَالَ
يَٰقَوۡمِ يَٰقَوۡمِ
أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ
إِن إِن
كُنتُ كُنتُ
عَلَىٰ عَلَىٰ
بَيِّنَةٖ بَيِّنَةٖ
مِّن مِّن
رَّبِّي رَّبِّي
وَرَزَقَنِي وَرَزَقَنِي
مِنۡهُ مِنۡهُ
رِزۡقًا رِزۡقًا
حَسَنٗاۚ حَسَنٗاۚ
وَمَآ وَمَآ
أُرِيدُ أُرِيدُ
أَنۡ أَنۡ
أُخَالِفَكُمۡ أُخَالِفَكُمۡ
إِلَىٰ إِلَىٰ
مَآ مَآ
أَنۡهَىٰكُمۡ أَنۡهَىٰكُمۡ
عَنۡهُۚ عَنۡهُۚ
إِنۡ إِنۡ
أُرِيدُ أُرِيدُ
إِلَّا إِلَّا
ٱلۡإِصۡلَٰحَ ٱلۡإِصۡلَٰحَ
مَا مَا
ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُۚ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُۚ
وَمَا وَمَا
تَوۡفِيقِيٓ تَوۡفِيقِيٓ
إِلَّا إِلَّا
بِٱللَّهِۚ بِٱللَّهِۚ
عَلَيۡهِ عَلَيۡهِ
تَوَكَّلۡتُ تَوَكَّلۡتُ
وَإِلَيۡهِ وَإِلَيۡهِ
أُنِيبُ أُنِيبُ
٨٨ ٨٨
He answered, ‘My people, can you not see? What if I am acting on clear evidence from my Lord? He Himself has given me good provision: I do not want to do what I am forbidding you to do, I only want to put things right as far as I can. I cannot succeed without God’s help: I trust in Him, and always turn to Him.
