About Surah An-Nasr

Known as Sūrat al-Tawdīʿ (The Farewell), these three verses carry the weight of an ending. A strong view held by Ibn ʿAbbās identifies this Madinan revelation as the final complete surah to descend. While its common name, al-Naṣr (The Help), points to divine support, it also shares the title al-Fatḥ (The Conquest) with Chapter 48, tied directly to the taking of Makkah and the Prophet's (ﷺ) imminent passing.

The text moves swiftly from triumph to preparation for death. It opens by announcing the arrival of complete divine help and the Makkan conquest. It then turns to the immediate consequence of this victory: the glad tidings of the mass entry of people into Islam. It closes by commanding the Prophet (ﷺ) to glorify, praise, and seek forgiveness from Allah.
