Streaks, XP & League

How daily goals, streaks, XP, hearts, gems, and the weekly League keep your reading habit going.

Nazira is built around a simple loop: show up each day, read a little, and watch your progress add up. These are the pieces that reward the habit.

The daily goal

Your daily goal is the amount of practice you aim for each day, set in minutes. On the Learn tab, a ring at the top fills as you practise and shows how close you are — for example, 7 / 10 minutes. Hitting your goal is the day’s target; anything beyond it is a bonus.

Change your goal anytime from Settings:

Streaks

Your streak is the number of consecutive days you’ve practised. Practise on a new day and the streak grows by one; the row of dots on your goal card and the flame on your profile both track it.

A streak rewards consistency over intensity — a small amount every day keeps it alive. Miss a day and the streak resets, so the gentle pressure to come back tomorrow is the whole point. A quick session on the Review tab counts, which makes protecting your streak easy even on a busy day.

XP

XP (experience points) are what you earn for reading:

  • Completing a lesson is when XP is awarded — the total is calculated at the end, not per answer.
  • Your XP for a lesson is the sum of three components: points for each correct answer, the lesson’s base reward (boss lessons carry a higher base than normal ones), and a perfect-run bonus if you answered every exercise correctly.
  • A flawless lesson (every exercise correct) earns a small perfect-run bonus on top.

Your XP shows up in three places: XP today on the goal card, your total XP on the profile, and your weekly XP in the League. The completion screen after each lesson breaks down exactly what you earned.

Hearts

Hearts are your room for mistakes inside a lesson. You start with five. Each wrong answer costs one heart, shown counting down at the top right of the lesson screen.

Hearts are about taking the exercises seriously, not about punishing you — a wrong answer always shows you the correct one before you move on, so every miss is still a chance to learn. Your hearts carry over between lessons.

Hearts make exercises matter, but they never block your learning permanently — and the feedback after every answer means even a wrong tap teaches you the right word.

Gems

Gems are a reward currency you collect as you learn — you earn a handful each time you complete a lesson. Your gem total appears on your profile. Gems are there to celebrate steady progress as your balance grows.

The League

The League tab is a weekly leaderboard that ranks learners by the XP they earn that week. It’s a friendly nudge to keep practising: the more you read, the higher you climb.

PartWhat it means
League bannerShows a league tier and a days-left counter — a preview of how the League will look.
LeaderboardA ranked list of learners by weekly XP, with your own row highlighted.
PromotionWhen live: finish near the top of your league at week’s end to move up a tier.
DemotionWhen live: finish near the bottom and you drop down a tier.

Each new week resets the weekly XP race, so everyone starts fresh and there’s always a reason to come back. The League is meant as light motivation alongside the real goal — reading the Qur’an a little better each day.

The League is still being built out. Right now it shows a sample leaderboard so you can see how it works and watch your own weekly XP climb; live ranking against other learners is on the way.
