Images, shapes, and assets
Add shapes and lines, search stock photos, upload your own images, edit and filter them, and set the canvas background.

Beyond text and verses, Studio gives you shapes, lines, icons, stock photos, your own uploads, and rich backgrounds. This page covers the visual building blocks.
Shapes, lines, and icons
Open the Elements panel from the left sidebar:
- Shapes — a library of shapes including rectangles, rounded rectangles, circles and ellipses, triangles, stars, polygons, diamonds, hearts, arrows, crescents, and many more decorative forms. Click one to add it; search by name to find a specific shape.
- Lines — line styles: Straight, Curved, Arrow, Dashed, Dotted, and Double.
- Icons — a large icon library to search and drop in.
Quick keys: R adds a rectangle, O adds a circle, and L adds a line.
Editing a shape
With a shape selected, the top-bar tools let you set its:
- Fill — a solid colour or a gradient.
- Stroke — outline colour and stroke width.
- Corner radius — round the corners of rectangles and similar shapes.
You can also flip a shape horizontally or vertically. For shapes you want to reshape precisely, path-editing tools let you edit, simplify, smooth, or reverse the shape’s path.
Stock photos
Open the Media panel and switch to its Library tab to search a large library of free stock images. Type a search, browse the results, and click any photo to add it to your canvas. If you have an image selected when you click a photo, it replaces that image.
Uploading your own images
Open the Media panel and switch to its Uploads tab to use your own pictures. You can add them three ways:
- Drag and drop a file onto the upload area,
- paste an image copied from elsewhere, or
- click to choose a file.
Your uploads appear in a grid on the Uploads tab so you can reuse them across designs. Click one to add it to the canvas; remove ones you no longer need from the same grid.
Signed in, your uploads are kept on your account and available on any device. As a guest, uploads stay in the current browser session only. Sign in to keep a permanent media library.
Editing and filtering images
Select an image to reveal its tools in the top bar.
Crop
- Visual Crop — drag the crop handles on the canvas, then Apply Crop. Cancel Crop backs out and Reset Crop clears it.
- Numeric Crop — set an exact crop region by typing X Offset, Y Offset, Width, and Height.
Replace and flip
- Replace Image — swap the picture while keeping its size and position.
- Flip Horizontal / Flip Vertical — mirror the image.
Filters
Open Filters for one-click looks and fine adjustments:

Use Reset All to clear every adjustment and return the image to its original look.
Backgrounds
Open the Background tool in the top bar to set the look behind everything on the canvas:
- Solid colour — a single flat colour, or fully transparent (useful when exporting a PNG with a see-through background).
- Gradient — blend colours with linear, radial, conic, diamond, or mesh gradients, with adjustable colour stops and angle.
You can also place a photo as a background by adding an image from the Media panel (its Library or Uploads tab) and sending it to the back of the stack — see ordering in The editor.
Keep contrast in mind: a verse in dark text needs a light background (and vice-versa) to stay readable. The eyedropper tool (I) lets you pick a colour straight from an image so your text and background match.
