ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ
خُلِقَ
هَلُوعًا
١٩
Man was truly created anxious:

228. Rub’ el-Hizb ربع ٢٢٨

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا
مَسَّهُ
ٱلشَّرُّ
جَزُوعٗا
٢٠
he is fretful when misfortune touches him,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَإِذَا
مَسَّهُ
ٱلۡخَيۡرُ
مَنُوعًا
٢١
but tight-fisted when good fortune comes his way.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
إِلَّا
ٱلۡمُصَلِّينَ
٢٢
Not so those who pray
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
ٱلَّذِينَ
هُمۡ
عَلَىٰ
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
دَآئِمُونَ
٢٣
and are constant in their prayers;
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
فِيٓ
أَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ
حَقّٞ
مَّعۡلُومٞ
٢٤
who give a due share of their wealth
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
لِّلسَّآئِلِ
وَٱلۡمَحۡرُومِ
٢٥
to beggars and the deprived;
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
يُصَدِّقُونَ
بِيَوۡمِ
ٱلدِّينِ
٢٦
who believe in the Day of Judgement
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
هُم
مِّنۡ
عَذَابِ
رَبِّهِم
مُّشۡفِقُونَ
٢٧
and fear the punishment of their Lord––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
إِنَّ
عَذَابَ
رَبِّهِمۡ
غَيۡرُ
مَأۡمُونٖ
٢٨
none may feel wholly secure from it––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
هُمۡ
لِفُرُوجِهِمۡ
حَٰفِظُونَ
٢٩
who guard their chastity
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
إِلَّا
عَلَىٰٓ
أَزۡوَٰجِهِمۡ
أَوۡ
مَا
مَلَكَتۡ
أَيۡمَٰنُهُمۡ
فَإِنَّهُمۡ
غَيۡرُ
مَلُومِينَ
٣٠
from all but their spouses or their slave-girls––there is no blame attached to [relations with] these,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَمَنِ
ٱبۡتَغَىٰ
وَرَآءَ
ذَٰلِكَ
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
هُمُ
ٱلۡعَادُونَ
٣١
but those whose desires exceed this limit are truly transgressors––
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
هُمۡ
لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمۡ
وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ
رَٰعُونَ
٣٢
who are faithful to their trusts and their pledges;
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
هُم
بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمۡ
قَآئِمُونَ
٣٣
who give honest testimony
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
هُمۡ
عَلَىٰ
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
يُحَافِظُونَ
٣٤
and are steadfast in their prayers.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
فِي
جَنَّٰتٖ
مُّكۡرَمُونَ
٣٥
They will be honoured in Gardens of bliss.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَمَالِ
ٱلَّذِينَ
كَفَرُواْ
قِبَلَكَ
مُهۡطِعِينَ
٣٦
What is wrong with the disbelievers? Why do they rush to peer at you [Prophet],
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
عَنِ
ٱلۡيَمِينِ
وَعَنِ
ٱلشِّمَالِ
عِزِينَ
٣٧
from right and left, in crowds?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَيَطۡمَعُ
كُلُّ
ٱمۡرِيٕٖ
مِّنۡهُمۡ
أَن
يُدۡخَلَ
جَنَّةَ
نَعِيمٖ
٣٨
Does every one of them expect to enter a Garden of bliss?
