Surah Al-Waqi'ah (The Inevitable) — 96 verses
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
لَيۡسَ
لِوَقۡعَتِهَا
كَاذِبَةٌ
٢
no one will be able to deny it has come,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
خَافِضَةٞ
رَّافِعَةٌ
٣
bringing low and raising high.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
إِذَا
رُجَّتِ
ٱلۡأَرۡضُ
رَجّٗا
٤
When the earth is shaken violently
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَبُسَّتِ
ٱلۡجِبَالُ
بَسّٗا
٥
and the mountains are ground to powder
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَكَانَتۡ
هَبَآءٗ
مُّنۢبَثّٗا
٦
and turn to scattered dust,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَكُنتُمۡ
أَزۡوَٰجٗا
ثَلَٰثَةٗ
٧
then you will be sorted into three classes.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَأَصۡحَٰبُ
ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ
مَآ
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ
٨
Those on the Right––what people they are!
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ
ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ
مَآ
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ
٩
Those on the Left––what people they are!
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ
ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ
١٠
And those in front––ahead indeed!
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
١١
For these will be the ones brought nearest to God
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فِي
جَنَّٰتِ
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
١٢
in Gardens of Bliss:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
ثُلَّةٞ
مِّنَ
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
١٣
many from the past
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَقَلِيلٞ
مِّنَ
ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
١٤
and a few from later generations.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
عَلَىٰ
سُرُرٖ
مَّوۡضُونَةٖ
١٥
On couches of well-woven cloth
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ
عَلَيۡهَا
مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ
١٦
they will sit facing each other;
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
يَطُوفُ
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
وِلۡدَٰنٞ
مُّخَلَّدُونَ
١٧
everlasting youths will go round among them
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
بِأَكۡوَابٖ
وَأَبَارِيقَ
وَكَأۡسٖ
مِّن
مَّعِينٖ
١٨
with glasses, flagons, and cups of a pure drink
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
لَّا
يُصَدَّعُونَ
عَنۡهَا
وَلَا
يُنزِفُونَ
١٩
that causes no headache or intoxication;
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَفَٰكِهَةٖ
مِّمَّا
يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
٢٠
[there will be] any fruit they choose;
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
