لِمَا
تُوعَدُونَ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِنۡ
هِيَ
إِلَّا
حَيَاتُنَا
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
نَمُوتُ
وَنَحۡيَا
وَمَا
نَحۡنُ
بِمَبۡعُوثِينَ
٣٧
There is only the life of this world: we die, we live, but we will never be resurrected.

إِنۡ
هُوَ
إِلَّا
رَجُلٌ
ٱفۡتَرَىٰ
عَلَى
ٱللَّهِ
كَذِبٗا
وَمَا
نَحۡنُ
لَهُۥ
بِمُؤۡمِنِينَ
٣٨
He is just a man making lies up about God. We will never believe in him.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
قَالَ
رَبِّ
ٱنصُرۡنِي
بِمَا
كَذَّبُونِ
٣٩
The prophet said, ‘My Lord, help me! They call me a liar,’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
قَالَ
عَمَّا
قَلِيلٖ
لَّيُصۡبِحُنَّ
نَٰدِمِينَ
٤٠
and so God said, ‘Soon they will be filled with regret.’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ
ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ
غُثَآءٗۚ
فَبُعۡدٗا
لِّلۡقَوۡمِ
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
٤١
The blast justly struck them and We swept them away like scum. Away with the evildoers!
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
ثُمَّ
أَنشَأۡنَا
مِنۢ
بَعۡدِهِمۡ
قُرُونًا
ءَاخَرِينَ
٤٢
We raised other generations after them-
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
مَا
تَسۡبِقُ
مِنۡ
أُمَّةٍ
أَجَلَهَا
وَمَا
يَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَ
٤٣
no community can advance or delay its time-
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
ثُمَّ
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
رُسُلَنَا
تَتۡرَاۖ
كُلَّ
مَا
جَآءَ
أُمَّةٗ
رَّسُولُهَا
كَذَّبُوهُۖ
فَأَتۡبَعۡنَا
بَعۡضَهُم
بَعۡضٗا
وَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ
أَحَادِيثَۚ
فَبُعۡدٗا
لِّقَوۡمٖ
لَّا
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
٤٤
and We sent Our messengers in succession: whenever a messenger came to a community they invariably called him a liar, so We destroyed them one after the other and made them into cautionary tales. Away with the disbelievers!
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
ثُمَّ
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
مُوسَىٰ
وَأَخَاهُ
هَٰرُونَ
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
وَسُلۡطَٰنٖ
مُّبِينٍ
٤٥
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our signs and clear authority,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
إِلَىٰ
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
وَمَلَإِيْهِۦ
فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ
وَكَانُواْ
قَوۡمًا
عَالِينَ
٤٦
to Pharaoh and his prominent leaders, but they responded with arrogance: they were a haughty people.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَقَالُوٓاْ
أَنُؤۡمِنُ
لِبَشَرَيۡنِ
مِثۡلِنَا
وَقَوۡمُهُمَا
لَنَا
عَٰبِدُونَ
٤٧
They said, ‘Are we to believe in two mortals like us? And their people are our servants?’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا
فَكَانُواْ
مِنَ
ٱلۡمُهۡلَكِينَ
٤٨
and so they called them both liars: they became another ruined people.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَلَقَدۡ
ءَاتَيۡنَا
مُوسَى
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
يَهۡتَدُونَ
٤٩
We gave Moses the Scripture, so that they might be rightly guided.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَجَعَلۡنَا
ٱبۡنَ
مَرۡيَمَ
وَأُمَّهُۥٓ
ءَايَةٗ
وَءَاوَيۡنَٰهُمَآ
إِلَىٰ
رَبۡوَةٖ
ذَاتِ
قَرَارٖ
وَمَعِينٖ
٥٠
We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign; We gave them shelter on a peaceful hillside with flowing water.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
ٱلرُّسُلُ
كُلُواْ
مِنَ
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ
وَٱعۡمَلُواْ
صَٰلِحًاۖ
إِنِّي
بِمَا
تَعۡمَلُونَ
عَلِيمٞ
٥١
Messengers, eat good things and do good deeds: I am well aware of what you do.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَإِنَّ
هَٰذِهِۦٓ
أُمَّتُكُمۡ
أُمَّةٗ
وَٰحِدَةٗ
وَأَنَا۠
رَبُّكُمۡ
فَٱتَّقُونِ
٥٢
This community of yours is one- and I am your Lord: be mindful of Me-
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَتَقَطَّعُوٓاْ
أَمۡرَهُم
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
زُبُرٗاۖ
كُلُّ
حِزۡبِۭ
بِمَا
لَدَيۡهِمۡ
فَرِحُونَ
٥٣
but they have split their community into sects, each rejoicing in their own.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَذَرۡهُمۡ
فِي
غَمۡرَتِهِمۡ
حَتَّىٰ
حِينٍ
٥٤
So [Muhammad] leave them for a while steeped [in their ignorance].
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَيَحۡسَبُونَ
أَنَّمَا
نُمِدُّهُم
بِهِۦ
مِن
مَّالٖ
وَبَنِينَ
٥٥
Do they reckon that, by giving them wealth and sons,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
نُسَارِعُ
لَهُمۡ
فِي
ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِۚ
بَل
لَّا
يَشۡعُرُونَ
٥٦
We race to give them good things? They really have no idea!
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
إِنَّ
ٱلَّذِينَ
هُم
مِّنۡ
خَشۡيَةِ
رَبِّهِم
مُّشۡفِقُونَ
٥٧
Those who stand in awe of their Lord,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
هُم
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
رَبِّهِمۡ
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
٥٨
who believe in His messages,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
هُم
بِرَبِّهِمۡ
لَا
يُشۡرِكُونَ
٥٩
who do not ascribe partners to Him,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَٱلَّذِينَ
يُؤۡتُونَ
مَآ
ءَاتَواْ
وَّقُلُوبُهُمۡ
وَجِلَةٌ
أَنَّهُمۡ
إِلَىٰ
رَبِّهِمۡ
رَٰجِعُونَ
٦٠
who always give with hearts that tremble at the thought that they must return to Him,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
يُسَٰرِعُونَ
فِي
ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِ
وَهُمۡ
لَهَا
سَٰبِقُونَ
٦١
are the ones who race toward good things, and they will be the first to get them.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَلَا
نُكَلِّفُ
نَفۡسًا
إِلَّا
وُسۡعَهَاۚ
وَلَدَيۡنَا
كِتَٰبٞ
يَنطِقُ
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
وَهُمۡ
لَا
يُظۡلَمُونَ
٦٢
We do not burden any soul with more than it can bear- We have a Record that tells the truth- they will not be wronged.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
بَلۡ
قُلُوبُهُمۡ
فِي
غَمۡرَةٖ
مِّنۡ
هَٰذَا
وَلَهُمۡ
أَعۡمَٰلٞ
مِّن
دُونِ
ذَٰلِكَ
هُمۡ
لَهَا
عَٰمِلُونَ
٦٣
But the disbelievers’ hearts are steeped [in ignorance of ] all this; and there are other things besides this that they do.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
حَتَّىٰٓ
إِذَآ
أَخَذۡنَا
مُتۡرَفِيهِم
بِٱلۡعَذَابِ
إِذَا
هُمۡ
يَجۡـَٔرُونَ
٦٤
When We bring Our punishment on those corrupted with wealth, they will cry for help:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
لَا
تَجۡـَٔرُواْ
ٱلۡيَوۡمَۖ
إِنَّكُم
مِّنَّا
لَا
تُنصَرُونَ
٦٥
‘Do not cry out today: you will get no help from Us.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
قَدۡ
كَانَتۡ
ءَايَٰتِي
تُتۡلَىٰ
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
فَكُنتُمۡ
عَلَىٰٓ
أَعۡقَٰبِكُمۡ
تَنكِصُونَ
٦٦
Time and time again My messages were recited to you, but you turned arrogantly on your heels,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
مُسۡتَكۡبِرِينَ
بِهِۦ
سَٰمِرٗا
تَهۡجُرُونَ
٦٧
and spent the evening making fun of [the Quran].’
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَفَلَمۡ
يَدَّبَّرُواْ
ٱلۡقَوۡلَ
أَمۡ
جَآءَهُم
مَّا
لَمۡ
يَأۡتِ
ءَابَآءَهُمُ
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
٦٨
Have they not contemplated the Word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَمۡ
لَمۡ
يَعۡرِفُواْ
رَسُولَهُمۡ
فَهُمۡ
لَهُۥ
مُنكِرُونَ
٦٩
Do they not recognize their Messenger? So why do they reject him?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَمۡ
يَقُولُونَ
بِهِۦ
جِنَّةُۢۚ
بَلۡ
جَآءَهُم
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
لِلۡحَقِّ
كَٰرِهُونَ
٧٠
Why do they say he is possessed? He has brought them the truth and most of them hate it,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَلَوِ
ٱتَّبَعَ
ٱلۡحَقُّ
أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ
لَفَسَدَتِ
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ
وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ
وَمَن
فِيهِنَّۚ
بَلۡ
أَتَيۡنَٰهُم
بِذِكۡرِهِمۡ
فَهُمۡ
عَن
ذِكۡرِهِم
مُّعۡرِضُونَ
٧١
but if the truth were in accordance with their desires, the heavens, the earth, and everyone in them would disintegrate. We have brought them their Reminder and they turn away from it.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَمۡ
تَسۡـَٔلُهُمۡ
خَرۡجٗا
فَخَرَاجُ
رَبِّكَ
خَيۡرٞۖ
وَهُوَ
خَيۡرُ
ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
٧٢
Do you [Prophet] ask them for any payment? Your Lord’s is the best payment: He is the Best of Providers.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَإِنَّكَ
لَتَدۡعُوهُمۡ
إِلَىٰ
صِرَٰطٖ
مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
٧٣
You call them to a straight path
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَإِنَّ
ٱلَّذِينَ
لَا
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
عَنِ
ٱلصِّرَٰطِ
لَنَٰكِبُونَ
٧٤
and those who do not believe in the Hereafter turn away from that path.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
