بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

۞ وَعِندَهُمۡ
قَٰصِرَٰتُ
ٱلطَّرۡفِ

they will have well-matched [wives] with modest gaze.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

هَٰذَا
مَا
تُوعَدُونَ
لِيَوۡمِ
ٱلۡحِسَابِ
٥٣
‘This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning:

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِنَّ
هَٰذَا
لَرِزۡقُنَا
مَا
لَهُۥ
مِن
نَّفَادٍ
٥٤
Our provision for you will never end.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

هَٰذَاۚ
وَإِنَّ
لِلطَّٰغِينَ
لَشَرَّ
مَـَٔابٖ
٥٥
But the evildoers will have the worst place to return to:

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

جَهَنَّمَ
يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا
فَبِئۡسَ
ٱلۡمِهَادُ
٥٦
Hell to burn in, an evil place to stay-

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

هَٰذَا
فَلۡيَذُوقُوهُ
حَمِيمٞ
وَغَسَّاقٞ
٥٧
all this will be theirs: let them taste it- a scalding, dark, foul fluid,

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَءَاخَرُ
مِن
شَكۡلِهِۦٓ
أَزۡوَٰجٌ
٥٨
and other such torments.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

هَٰذَا
فَوۡجٞ
مُّقۡتَحِمٞ
مَّعَكُمۡ
لَا
مَرۡحَبَۢا
بِهِمۡۚ
إِنَّهُمۡ
صَالُواْ
ٱلنَّارِ
٥٩
[It will be said], ‘Here is another crowd of people rushing headlong to join you.’ [The response will be], ‘They are not welcome! They will burn in the Fire.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قَالُواْ
بَلۡ
أَنتُمۡ
لَا
مَرۡحَبَۢا
بِكُمۡۖ
أَنتُمۡ
قَدَّمۡتُمُوهُ
لَنَاۖ
فَبِئۡسَ
ٱلۡقَرَارُ
٦٠
They will say to them, ‘You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay,’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قَالُواْ
رَبَّنَا
مَن
قَدَّمَ
لَنَا
هَٰذَا
فَزِدۡهُ
عَذَابٗا
ضِعۡفٗا
فِي
ٱلنَّارِ
٦١
adding, ‘Our Lord, give double punishment to those who brought this upon us.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَقَالُواْ
مَا
لَنَا
لَا
نَرَىٰ
رِجَالٗا
كُنَّا
نَعُدُّهُم
مِّنَ
ٱلۡأَشۡرَارِ
٦٢
They will say, ‘Why do we not see those we thought were bad

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

أَتَّخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ
سِخۡرِيًّا
أَمۡ
زَاغَتۡ
عَنۡهُمُ
ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
٦٣
and took as a laughing-stock? Have our eyes missed them?’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِنَّ
ذَٰلِكَ
لَحَقّٞ
تَخَاصُمُ
أَهۡلِ
ٱلنَّارِ
٦٤
This is how it will really be: the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قُلۡ
إِنَّمَآ
أَنَا۠
مُنذِرٞۖ
وَمَا
مِنۡ
إِلَٰهٍ
إِلَّا
ٱللَّهُ
ٱلۡوَٰحِدُ
ٱلۡقَهَّارُ
٦٥
[Prophet] say, ‘I am only here to give warning. There is no god but God the One, the All Powerful,

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

رَبُّ
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
وَمَا
بَيۡنَهُمَا
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
ٱلۡغَفَّٰرُ
٦٦
Lord of the heavens and earth and everything between, the Almighty, the Most Forgiving.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قُلۡ
هُوَ
نَبَؤٌاْ
عَظِيمٌ
٦٧
Say, ‘This message is a mighty one,

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

أَنتُمۡ
عَنۡهُ
مُعۡرِضُونَ
٦٨
yet you ignore it.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

مَا
كَانَ
لِيَ
مِنۡ
عِلۡمِۭ
بِٱلۡمَلَإِ
ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰٓ
إِذۡ
يَخۡتَصِمُونَ
٦٩
I have no knowledge of what those on high discuss:

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِن
يُوحَىٰٓ
إِلَيَّ
إِلَّآ
أَنَّمَآ
أَنَا۠
نَذِيرٞ
مُّبِينٌ
٧٠
it is only revealed to me that I am here to give clear warning.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِذۡ
قَالَ
رَبُّكَ
لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
إِنِّي
خَٰلِقُۢ
بَشَرٗا
مِّن
طِينٖ
٧١
Your Lord said to the angels, ‘I will create a man from clay.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

فَإِذَا
سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ
وَنَفَخۡتُ
فِيهِ
مِن
رُّوحِي
فَقَعُواْ
لَهُۥ
سَٰجِدِينَ
٧٢
When I have shaped him and breathed from My Spirit into him, bow down before him.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

فَسَجَدَ
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
كُلُّهُمۡ
أَجۡمَعُونَ
٧٣
The angels all bowed down together,

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِلَّآ
إِبۡلِيسَ
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ
وَكَانَ
مِنَ
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
٧٤
but not Iblis, who was too proud. He became a rebel.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قَالَ
يَٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ
مَا
مَنَعَكَ
أَن
تَسۡجُدَ
لِمَا
خَلَقۡتُ
بِيَدَيَّۖ
أَسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ
أَمۡ
كُنتَ
مِنَ
ٱلۡعَالِينَ
٧٥
God said, ‘Iblis, what prevents you from bowing down to the man I have made with My own hands? Are you too high and mighty?’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قَالَ
أَنَا۠
خَيۡرٞ
مِّنۡهُ
خَلَقۡتَنِي
مِن
نَّارٖ
وَخَلَقۡتَهُۥ
مِن
طِينٖ
٧٦
Iblis said, ‘I am better than him: You made me from fire, and him from clay.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قَالَ
فَٱخۡرُجۡ
مِنۡهَا
فَإِنَّكَ
رَجِيمٞ
٧٧
‘Get out of here! You are rejected:

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَإِنَّ
عَلَيۡكَ
لَعۡنَتِيٓ
إِلَىٰ
يَوۡمِ
ٱلدِّينِ
٧٨
My rejection will follow you till the Day of Judgement!’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قَالَ
رَبِّ
فَأَنظِرۡنِيٓ
إِلَىٰ
يَوۡمِ
يُبۡعَثُونَ
٧٩
but Iblis said, ‘My Lord, grant me respite until the Day when they are raised from the dead,’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قَالَ
فَإِنَّكَ
مِنَ
ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ
٨٠
so He said, ‘You have respite

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِلَىٰ
يَوۡمِ
ٱلۡوَقۡتِ
ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ
٨١
till the Appointed Day.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قَالَ
فَبِعِزَّتِكَ
لَأُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ
أَجۡمَعِينَ
٨٢
Iblis said, ‘I swear by Your might! I will tempt all

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِلَّا
عِبَادَكَ
مِنۡهُمُ
ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
٨٣
but Your true servants.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قَالَ
فَٱلۡحَقُّ
وَٱلۡحَقَّ
أَقُولُ
٨٤
God said, ‘This is the truth- I speak only the truth-

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ
جَهَنَّمَ
مِنكَ
وَمِمَّن
تَبِعَكَ
مِنۡهُمۡ
أَجۡمَعِينَ
٨٥
I will fill Hell with you and all those that follow you.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

قُلۡ
مَآ
أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ
عَلَيۡهِ
مِنۡ
أَجۡرٖ
وَمَآ
أَنَا۠
مِنَ
ٱلۡمُتَكَلِّفِينَ
٨٦
[Prophet], say, ‘I ask no reward from you for this, nor do I claim to be what I am not:

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِنۡ
هُوَ
إِلَّا
ذِكۡرٞ
لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
٨٧
this is only a warning for all people.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّ
نَبَأَهُۥ
بَعۡدَ
حِينِۭ
٨٨
In time you will certainly come to know its truth.’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

تَنزِيلُ
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
مِنَ
ٱللَّهِ
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
١
This Scripture is sent down from God the Mighty, the Wise.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِنَّآ
أَنزَلۡنَآ
إِلَيۡكَ
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
فَٱعۡبُدِ
ٱللَّهَ
مُخۡلِصٗا
لَّهُ
ٱلدِّينَ
٢
It is We who sent down the Scripture to you [Prophet] with the Truth, so worship God with your total devotion:

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

أَلَا
لِلَّهِ
ٱلدِّينُ
ٱلۡخَالِصُۚ
وَٱلَّذِينَ
ٱتَّخَذُواْ
مِن
دُونِهِۦٓ
أَوۡلِيَآءَ
مَا
نَعۡبُدُهُمۡ
إِلَّا
لِيُقَرِّبُونَآ
إِلَى
ٱللَّهِ
زُلۡفَىٰٓ
إِنَّ
ٱللَّهَ
يَحۡكُمُ
بَيۡنَهُمۡ
فِي
مَا
هُمۡ
فِيهِ
يَخۡتَلِفُونَۗ
إِنَّ
ٱللَّهَ
لَا
يَهۡدِي
مَنۡ
هُوَ
كَٰذِبٞ
كَفَّارٞ
٣
true devotion is due to God alone. [As for] those who choose other protectors beside Him, saying, ‘We only worship them because they bring us nearer to God,’ God Himself will judge between them regarding their differences. God does not guide any ungrateful liar.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

لَّوۡ
أَرَادَ
ٱللَّهُ
أَن
يَتَّخِذَ
وَلَدٗا
لَّٱصۡطَفَىٰ
مِمَّا
يَخۡلُقُ
مَا
يَشَآءُۚ
سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ
هُوَ
ٱللَّهُ
ٱلۡوَٰحِدُ
ٱلۡقَهَّارُ
٤
God could have chosen any of His creation He willed for offspring, but He is far above this! He is the One, the Almighty.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
ٱلۡغَفَّٰرُ
٥
He created the heavens and earth for a true purpose; He wraps the night around the day and the day around the night; He has subjected the sun and moon to run their courses for an appointed time; He is truly the Mighty, the Forgiving.

He created you all from a single being, from which He made its mate; He gave you four kinds of livestock in pairs; He creates you in your mothers’ wombs, in one stage after another, in threefold depths of darkness. Such is God, your Lord; He holds control, there is no god but Him. How can you turn away?

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِن
تَكۡفُرُواْ
فَإِنَّ
ٱللَّهَ

If you are ungrateful, remember God has no need of you, yet He is not pleased by ingrati-tude in His servants; if you are grateful, He is pleased [to see] it in you. No soul will bear another’s burden. You will return to your Lord in the end and He will inform you of what you have done: He knows well what is in the depths of [your] hearts.
