Verses
- 74:31 Al-Muddaththir وَمَا جَعَلْنَآ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَـٰٓئِكَةً ۙ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَيَزْدَادَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِيمَـٰنًا ۙ وَلَا يَرْتَابَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۙ وَلِيَقُولَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَـٰذَا مَثَلًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَمَا هِىَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْبَشَرِ none other than angels appointed by Us to guard Hellfire- and We have made their number a test for the disbelievers. So those who have been given the Scripture will be certain and those who believe will have their faith increased: neither those who have been given the Scripture nor the believers will have any doubts, but the sick at heart and the disbelievers will say, ‘What could God mean by this description?’ God leaves whoever He will to stray and guides whoever He will- no one knows your Lord’s forces except Him- this [description] is a warning to mortals.
- 74:42 Al-Muddaththir مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِى سَقَرَ ‘What drove you to the Scorching Fire?’ [they will ask]
- 74:43 Al-Muddaththir قَالُوا۟ لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ and they will answer, ‘We did not pray;
- 74:44 Al-Muddaththir وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ ٱلْمِسْكِينَ we did not feed the poor;
- 74:45 Al-Muddaththir وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلْخَآئِضِينَ we indulged with others [in mocking the believers];
- 74:46 Al-Muddaththir وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ we denied the Day of Judgement
- 74:47 Al-Muddaththir حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰنَا ٱلْيَقِينُ until the Certain End came upon us.’
- 74:48 Al-Muddaththir فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَـٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَ No intercessor’s plea will benefit them now.
- 76:4 Al-Insan إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَـٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا We have prepared chains, iron collars, and blazing Fire for the disbelievers, but
- 77:29 Al-Mursalat ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ They will be told, ‘Go to that which you used to deny!
- 77:30 Al-Mursalat ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِى ثَلَـٰثِ شُعَبٍ Go to a shadow of smoke!’ It rises in three columns;
- 77:31 Al-Mursalat لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ no shade does it give, nor relief from the flame;
- 77:32 Al-Mursalat إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍ كَٱلْقَصْرِ it shoots out sparks as large as treetrunks
- 77:33 Al-Mursalat كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَـٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ and as bright as copper.
- 78:21 An-Naba إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا Hell lies in wait,
- 78:22 An-Naba لِّلطَّـٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًا a home for oppressors
- 78:23 An-Naba لَّـٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًا to stay in for a long, long time,
- 78:24 An-Naba لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا where they will taste no coolness nor drink
- 78:25 An-Naba إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا except one that is scalding and dark––
- 78:26 An-Naba جَزَآءً وِفَاقًا a fitting requital,
- 78:27 An-Naba إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا for they did not fear a reckoning,
- 78:28 An-Naba وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا كِذَّابًا and they rejected Our messages as lies.
- 78:29 An-Naba وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَـٰهُ كِتَـٰبًا We have recorded everything in a Record.
- 78:30 An-Naba فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا ‘Taste this: all you will get from Us is more torment.’
- 79:36 An-Nazi'at وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ and Hell is there for all to see,
- 79:37 An-Nazi'at فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ for anyone who has transgressed
- 79:38 An-Nazi'at وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا and preferred the present life
- 79:39 An-Nazi'at فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ Hell will be home;
- 81:12 At-Takwir وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ when Hell is made to blaze
- 82:14 Al-Infitar وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ and the wicked will burn in the Fire.
- 82:15 Al-Infitar يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ They will enter it on the Day of Judgement
- 82:16 Al-Infitar وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ and they will find no escape.
- 83:16 Al-Mutaffifin ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ they will burn in Hell,
- 83:17 Al-Mutaffifin ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ and they will be told, ‘This is what you called a lie.’
- 84:11 Al-Inshiqaq فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا will cry out for destruction––
- 87:13 Al-A'la ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ where they will neither die nor live.
- 88:4 Al-Ghashiyah تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً as they enter the blazing Fire
- 88:5 Al-Ghashiyah تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ and are forced to drink from a boiling spring,
- 88:6 Al-Ghashiyah لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ with no food for them except bitter dry thorns
- 88:7 Al-Ghashiyah لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍ that neither nourish nor satisfy hunger.
- 89:23 Al-Fajr وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ when Hell is that Day brought near- on that Day man will take heed, but what good will that be to him then?
- 90:20 Al-Balad عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌۢ and the Fire will close in on them.
- 92:14 Al-Layl فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ so I warn you about the raging Fire,
- 92:15 Al-Layl لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى in which none but the most wicked one will burn,
- 92:16 Al-Layl ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ who denied [the truth], and turned away.
- 101:11 Al-Qari'ah نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ a blazing fire.
- 102:6 At-Takathur لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ You will most definitely see Hellfire,
- 102:7 At-Takathur ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ you will see it with the eye of certainty.
- 104:4 Al-Humazah كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ No indeed! He will be thrust into the Crusher!
- 104:5 Al-Humazah وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ What will explain to you what the Crusher is?
