Verses
- 50:24 Qaf أَلْقِيَا فِى جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ ‘Hurl every obstinate disbeliever into Hell,
- 50:25 Qaf مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ everyone who hindered good, was aggressive, caused others to doubt,
- 50:26 Qaf ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِيدِ and set up other gods alongside God. Hurl him into severe punishment!’-
- 50:30 Qaf يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ We shall say to Hell on that day, ‘Are you full?’ and it will reply, ‘Are there no more?’
- 54:48 Al-Qamar يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا۟ مَسَّ سَقَرَ on the Day when they are dragged on their faces in Hell. ‘Feel the touch of Hell.’
- 55:43 Ar-Rahman هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ This is the Hell the guilty deny,
- 55:44 Ar-Rahman يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍ but they will go round between its flames and scalding water.
- 56:41 Al-Waqi'ah وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ But those on the Left, what people they are!
- 56:42 Al-Waqi'ah فِى سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ They will dwell amid scorching wind and scalding water
- 56:43 Al-Waqi'ah وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ in the shadow of black smoke,
- 56:44 Al-Waqi'ah لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ neither cool nor refreshing.
- 56:45 Al-Waqi'ah إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ Before, they overindulged in luxury
- 56:46 Al-Waqi'ah وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ and persisted in great sin,
- 56:47 Al-Waqi'ah وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ always saying, ‘What? When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be raised up?
- 56:48 Al-Waqi'ah أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ And our earliest forefathers too?’
- 56:49 Al-Waqi'ah قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ Say [Prophet], ‘The earliest and latest generations
- 56:50 Al-Waqi'ah لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ will all be gathered on a predetermined Day
- 56:51 Al-Waqi'ah ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ and you who have gone astray and denied the truth
- 56:52 Al-Waqi'ah لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ will eat from the bitter tree of Zaqqum,
- 56:53 Al-Waqi'ah فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ filling your bellies with it,
- 56:54 Al-Waqi'ah فَشَـٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ and drink scalding water,
- 56:55 Al-Waqi'ah فَشَـٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ lapping it like thirsty camels.’
- 56:56 Al-Waqi'ah هَـٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement.
- 56:94 Al-Waqi'ah وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ He will burn in Hell.
- 57:15 Al-Hadid فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا يُؤْخَذُ مِنكُمْ فِدْيَةٌ وَلَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ مَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ ۖ هِىَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ Today no ransom will be accepted from you or from the disbelievers: your home is the Fire- that is where you belong––a miserable destination!’
- 58:8 Al-Mujadila أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ نُهُوا۟ عَنِ ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ ثُمَّ يَعُودُونَ لِمَا نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَيَتَنَـٰجَوْنَ بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِذَا جَآءُوكَ حَيَّوْكَ بِمَا لَمْ يُحَيِّكَ بِهِ ٱللَّهُ وَيَقُولُونَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَوْلَا يُعَذِّبُنَا ٱللَّهُ بِمَا نَقُولُ ۚ حَسْبُهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ يَصْلَوْنَهَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ Have you not seen how those who have been forbidden to hold secret conversations go back afterwards and hold them, and conspire with one another in what is sinful, hostile, and disobedient to the Messenger? When they come to you they greet you with words God has never used to greet you, and say inwardly, ‘Why does God not punish us for what we say?’ Hell will be punishment enough for them: they will burn there- an evil destination.
- 59:3 Al-Hashr وَلَوْلَآ أَن كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْجَلَآءَ لَعَذَّبَهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَذَابُ ٱلنَّارِ If God had not decreed exile for them, He would have tormented them [even more severely] in this world. In the Hereafter they will have the torment of the Fire
- 66:6 At-Tahrim يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلَـٰٓئِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا يَعْصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَآ أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ Believers, guard yourselves and your families against a Fire fuelled by people and stones, over which stand angels, stern and strong; angels who never disobey God’s commands to them, but do as they are ordered:
- 67:7 Al-Mulk إِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ فِيهَا سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا شَهِيقًا وَهِىَ تَفُورُ They will hear it drawing in its breath when they are thrown in. It blazes forth,
- 67:8 Al-Mulk تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ ۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلْقِىَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ almost bursting with rage. Its keepers will ask every group that is thrown in, ‘Did no one come to warn you?’
- 69:30 Al-Haqqah خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ ‘Take him, put a collar on him,
- 69:31 Al-Haqqah ثُمَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ lead him to burn in the blazing Fire,
- 69:32 Al-Haqqah ثُمَّ فِى سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَٱسْلُكُوهُ and [bind him] in a chain seventy metres long:
- 69:33 Al-Haqqah إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ he would not believe in Almighty God,
- 69:34 Al-Haqqah وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ he never encouraged feeding the hungry,
- 69:35 Al-Haqqah فَلَيْسَ لَهُ ٱلْيَوْمَ هَـٰهُنَا حَمِيمٌ so today he has no real friend here,
- 69:36 Al-Haqqah وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ and the only food he has is the filth
- 69:37 Al-Haqqah لَّا يَأْكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْخَـٰطِـُٔونَ that only sinners eat.’
- 70:15 Al-Ma'arij كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّهَا لَظَىٰ But no! There is a raging flame
- 70:16 Al-Ma'arij نَزَّاعَةً لِّلشَّوَىٰ that strips away the skin,
- 70:17 Al-Ma'arij تَدْعُوا۟ مَنْ أَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ and it will claim everyone who rejects the truth, turns away,
- 70:18 Al-Ma'arij وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَىٰٓ amasses wealth and hoards it.
- 72:23 Al-Jinn إِلَّا بَلَـٰغًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِسَـٰلَـٰتِهِۦ ۚ وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا I only deliver [what I receive] from God- only His messages.’ Whoever disobeys God and His Messenger will have Hell’s Fire as his permanent home:
- 73:12 Al-Muzzammil إِنَّ لَدَيْنَآ أَنكَالًا وَجَحِيمًا We have fetters, a blazing fire,
- 73:13 Al-Muzzammil وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًا food that chokes, and agonizing torment in store for them
- 74:26 Al-Muddaththir سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ I will throw him into the scorching Fire.
- 74:27 Al-Muddaththir وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ What will explain to you what the scorching Fire is?
- 74:28 Al-Muddaththir لَا تُبْقِى وَلَا تَذَرُ It spares nothing and leaves nothing;
- 74:29 Al-Muddaththir لَوَّاحَةٌ لِّلْبَشَرِ it scorches the flesh of humans;
- 74:30 Al-Muddaththir عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ there are nineteen in charge of it––
