بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

ٱللَّهُ
لِمَن

وَيَرۡضَىٰٓ
٢٦
There are many angels in heaven whose intercession will be of no use until God gives permission to those He will, whose words He will accept.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

إِنَّ
ٱلَّذِينَ
لَا
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
لَيُسَمُّونَ
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ
تَسۡمِيَةَ
ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ
٢٧
Those who deny the life to come give the angels female names.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَمَا

ٱلظَّنَّۖ

٢٨
They have no knowledge to base this on: they merely follow guesswork. Guesswork is of no value against the Truth.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

٢٩
So [Prophet] ignore those who turn away from Our revelation, who want only the life of this world.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

ذَٰلِكَ
مَبۡلَغُهُم

ٱلۡعِلۡمِۚ
إِنَّ
رَبَّكَ

٣٠
Their knowledge does not go beyond that. Your Lord knows best who strays from His path and who follows guidance.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَلِلَّهِ
مَا

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
وَمَا
فِي
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
لِيَجۡزِيَ
ٱلَّذِينَ

بِمَا
عَمِلُواْ
وَيَجۡزِيَ
ٱلَّذِينَ
أَحۡسَنُواْ
بِٱلۡحُسۡنَى
٣١
Everything in the heavens and earth belongs to God. He will repay those who do evil according to their deeds, and reward, with what is best, those who do good.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

ٱلَّذِينَ
يَجۡتَنِبُونَ
كَبَٰٓئِرَ
ٱلۡإِثۡمِ
وَٱلۡفَوَٰحِشَ
إِلَّا
ٱللَّمَمَۚ
إِنَّ
رَبَّكَ

ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِۚ

ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
وَإِذۡ
أَنتُمۡ

بُطُونِ
أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡۖ
فَلَا
تُزَكُّوٓاْ
أَنفُسَكُمۡۖ
هُوَ

بِمَنِ
ٱتَّقَىٰٓ
٣٢
As for those who avoid grave sins and foul acts, though they may commit small sins, your Lord is ample in forgiveness. He has been aware of you from the time He produced you from the earth and from your hiding places in your mothers’ wombs, so do not assert your own goodness:He knows best who is mindful of Him.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

أَفَرَءَيۡتَ
ٱلَّذِي
تَوَلَّىٰ
٣٣
[Prophet], consider that man who turned away:

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَعۡطَىٰ
قَلِيلٗا
وَأَكۡدَىٰٓ
٣٤
he only gave a little and then he stopped.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

أَعِندَهُۥ
عِلۡمُ
ٱلۡغَيۡبِ
فَهُوَ
يَرَىٰٓ
٣٥
Does he have knowledge of the Unseen? Can he see [the Hereafter]?

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

أَمۡ

صُحُفِ
مُوسَىٰ
٣٦
Has he not been told what was written in the Scriptures of Moses

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
ٱلَّذِي
وَفَّىٰٓ
٣٧
and of Abraham, who fulfilled his duty:

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

أَلَّا
تَزِرُ
وَازِرَةٞ
وِزۡرَ
أُخۡرَىٰ
٣٨
that no soul shall bear the burden of another;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَن
لَّيۡسَ
لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ
إِلَّا
مَا
سَعَىٰ
٣٩
that man will only have what he has worked towards;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنَّ
سَعۡيَهُۥ
سَوۡفَ
يُرَىٰ
٤٠
that his labour will be seen

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

ثُمَّ
يُجۡزَىٰهُ
ٱلۡجَزَآءَ
ٱلۡأَوۡفَىٰ
٤١
and that in the end he will be repaid in full for it;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنَّ
إِلَىٰ
رَبِّكَ
ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ
٤٢
that the final goal is your Lord;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنَّهُۥ
هُوَ
أَضۡحَكَ
وَأَبۡكَىٰ
٤٣
that it is He who makes people laugh and weep;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنَّهُۥ
هُوَ
أَمَاتَ
وَأَحۡيَا
٤٤
that it is He who gives death and life;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنَّهُۥ
خَلَقَ
ٱلزَّوۡجَيۡنِ
ٱلذَّكَرَ
وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ
٤٥
that He Himself created the two sexes, male and female,

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

مِن
نُّطۡفَةٍ
إِذَا
تُمۡنَىٰ
٤٦
from an ejected drop of sperm;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنَّ
عَلَيۡهِ
ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ
ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ
٤٧
that He will undertake the second Creation;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنَّهُۥ
هُوَ
أَغۡنَىٰ
وَأَقۡنَىٰ
٤٨
that it is He who gives wealth and possessions;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنَّهُۥ
هُوَ
رَبُّ
ٱلشِّعۡرَىٰ
٤٩
that He is the Lord of Sirius;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنَّهُۥٓ
أَهۡلَكَ
عَادًا
ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
٥٠
that it was He who destroyed, in their entirety, ancient 'Ad

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَثَمُودَاْ
فَمَآ
أَبۡقَىٰ
٥١
and Thamud,

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَقَوۡمَ
نُوحٖ
مِّن
قَبۡلُۖ
إِنَّهُمۡ
كَانُواْ
هُمۡ
أَظۡلَمَ
وَأَطۡغَىٰ
٥٢
and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent;

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ
أَهۡوَىٰ
٥٣
that it was He who brought down the ruined cities

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

فَغَشَّىٰهَا
مَا
غَشَّىٰ
٥٤
and enveloped them in the punishment He ordained for them?

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

فَبِأَيِّ
ءَالَآءِ
رَبِّكَ
تَتَمَارَىٰ
٥٥
Which then of your Lord’s blessings do you deny?

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

هَٰذَا
نَذِيرٞ
مِّنَ
ٱلنُّذُرِ
ٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ
٥٦
This is a warning just like the warnings sent in former times.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

أَزِفَتِ
ٱلۡأٓزِفَةُ
٥٧
The imminent Hour draws near

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

لَيۡسَ
لَهَا
مِن
دُونِ
ٱللَّهِ
كَاشِفَةٌ
٥٨
and only God can disclose it.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

أَفَمِنۡ
هَٰذَا
ٱلۡحَدِيثِ
تَعۡجَبُونَ
٥٩
Do you [people] marvel at this?

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَتَضۡحَكُونَ
وَلَا
تَبۡكُونَ
٦٠
Why do you laugh instead of weeping?

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَأَنتُمۡ
سَٰمِدُونَ
٦١
Why do you pay no heed?

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

فَٱسۡجُدُواْۤ
لِلَّهِۤ
وَٱعۡبُدُواْ۩
٦٢
Bow down before God and worship.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ
ٱلسَّاعَةُ
وَٱنشَقَّ
ٱلۡقَمَرُ
١
The Hour draws near; the moon is split in two.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَإِن
يَرَوۡاْ
ءَايَةٗ
يُعۡرِضُواْ
وَيَقُولُواْ
سِحۡرٞ
مُّسۡتَمِرّٞ
٢
Whenever the disbelievers see a sign, they turn away and say, ‘Same old sorcery!’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَكَذَّبُواْ
وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ
أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ
وَكُلُّ
أَمۡرٖ
مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ
٣
They reject the truth and follow their own desires––everything is recorded––

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

وَلَقَدۡ
جَآءَهُم
مِّنَ
ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ
مَا
فِيهِ
مُزۡدَجَرٌ
٤
although warning tales that should have restrained them have come down to them––

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

حِكۡمَةُۢ
بَٰلِغَةٞۖ
فَمَا
تُغۡنِ
ٱلنُّذُرُ
٥
farreaching wisdom––but these warnings do not help:

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

فَتَوَلَّ
عَنۡهُمۡۘ
يَوۡمَ
يَدۡعُ
ٱلدَّاعِ
إِلَىٰ
شَيۡءٖ
نُّكُرٍ
٦
so [Prophet] turn away from them. On the Day the Summoner will summon them to a horrific event,

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

خُشَّعًا
أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ
يَخۡرُجُونَ
مِنَ
ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ
كَأَنَّهُمۡ
جَرَادٞ
مُّنتَشِرٞ
٧
eyes downcast, they will come out of their graves like swarming locusts

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

مُّهۡطِعِينَ
إِلَى
ٱلدَّاعِۖ
يَقُولُ
ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ
هَٰذَا
يَوۡمٌ
عَسِرٞ
٨
rushing towards the Summoner. The disbelievers will cry, ‘This is a stern day!’

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
