The Listen player: sleep timer, repeat, speed and more
Quran Gallery Listen has one player that stays at the bottom of every page. Here is what it does today, one question at a time.
Can I set a sleep timer?
Yes. Open the moon button in the player and choose 15, 30, 60 minutes, a custom length, or the end of the surah. The timed options also work on live radio, so you can fall asleep to a station; “end of surah” is not offered on radio because a station never ends.
Can I change the speed?
Yes, from 0.25× to 2×. Pick a preset or drag the slider in steps of 0.05. Live radio has no speed control.
Can I repeat a surah or a range of ayat?
You can repeat a surah, or the whole queue, on any recitation. Repeating one ayah or a range of ayat, with a pause of 1–5 seconds between plays, works on recitations timed verse by verse, which are a smaller set of reciters. Open the repeat button in the player to choose.
Does it keep playing when I change page?
Yes. The player stays at the bottom while you move between surahs, reciters and pages, and it keeps playing when you open another Quran Gallery app.
Can I control it from the lock screen?
Where your device and browser support media controls, yes: the lock screen, headphones or a car display show play, pause, next surah, previous surah and seeking. Whether audio keeps playing with the screen locked depends on your browser and device.
Can I download a surah?
Yes. Choose Download from a surah’s menu to save it as an MP3 file on your device. The file is yours to keep and plays in any audio app. Or choose Save for offline to keep it in the app, then play it from Library → Saved offline with no connection.
Can I save favorites and playlists without an account?
Yes. Favorites, playlists and history are kept on this device, so you do not need to sign in to use them. If you sign in with a free Quran Gallery account, they are added to your account and appear on your other devices; until then they stay on this device only.
Is it free and ad-free?
Yes. Listen is free, shows no ads, and no advertising code runs on the page. You do not need an account to listen.
Can I install it on my phone’s home screen?
Yes. Use your browser’s Add to Home Screen or Install option and Listen opens like an app, full screen and without the address bar. It is the same website, so there is no store app to download.
