Prayer-time sources can differ in calculation method, Asr time and high-latitude rule, and some round times or add a few minutes of caution. These times for Clapham Junction use the Wifaq ul Ulama method with the Hanafi Asr time; with the same settings, other sources usually come within a minute or two.

The times for Clapham Junction use the Hanafi Asr time. Asr begins when an object's shadow is twice its own length, added to its shadow at solar noon. This is the view of Abu Hanifa, followed by the Hanafi school. The alternative is Standard. Asr begins when an object's shadow equals its own length, added to its shadow at solar noon. This is the view of the Shafiʿi, Maliki and Hanbali schools. You can switch to it if your mosque follows it.

For nights when the usual Fajr or Isha time cannot be reached, prayer times for Clapham Junction use the Isha at one seventh of the night (Wifaq ul Ulama) rule. On nights when the method's Isha angle would put Isha more than one seventh of the night after sunset, Isha is one seventh of the night after sunset; in the UK this applies from about April to early September. Back-computed from Wifaq ul Ulama's 2026 timetables for London, Birmingham and Glasgow, which it matches within one minute. Wifaq's method page names the nearest-day and half-night rules; its timetables cap Isha at one seventh of the night and put Fajr near the middle of the night. Fajr then follows Wifaq's half-night Fajr rule.

The times are worked out for the location of Clapham Junction with the Wifaq ul Ulama method and given to the minute. A printed timetable can differ by a minute or two because it rounds times or adds minutes of caution; a bigger gap usually means a different method, Asr time or high-latitude rule.
