Frequently Asked Questions
Does the adhan play when the app is closed?
No. A web page cannot play sound once it is closed. The reminder sound plays while the app is open in a browser tab or installed as an app, and today it is a short alert tone or a takbir tone, not a recorded adhan. Notifications, if you turn them on, use your device's own notification sound.
Why does the sound need a tap first?
iPhones, iPads and some other browsers block sound until you tap the page. Tap Turn on sound once after you open the app, and the sound can then play by itself at prayer time.
Can I use my own recording as the notification sound?
Not from the app. A web notification cannot carry a custom sound; it uses the sound you set for your browser or the installed app in your device settings. You can pick any ringtone there.
Which sounds can I choose?
No sound, a beep, or a takbir. Both sounds are made on your device, so they work without a download. Recorded adhans by named muezzins are being added.
Does it play at sunrise?
No. It plays at Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha. Sunrise marks the end of Fajr and is not a prayer time.
Which prayer times does it use?
The ones shown in the app for your saved location: your calculation method, madhab for Asr, and any minute adjustments you set.
