Prayer-time sources can differ in calculation method, Asr time and high-latitude rule, and some round times or add a few minutes of caution. These times for Congomah use the Egyptian General Survey Authority method with the Standard Asr time; with the same settings, other sources usually come within a minute or two.

The times for Congomah use the Standard Asr time. Asr begins when an object's shadow equals its own length, added to its shadow at solar noon. This is the view of the Shafiʿi, Maliki and Hanbali schools. The alternative is Hanafi. Asr begins when an object's shadow is twice its own length, added to its shadow at solar noon.
