Verses
- 2:79 Al-Baqarah فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَكْتُبُونَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَـٰذَا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَشْتَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لَّهُم مِّمَّا كَتَبَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَوَيْلٌ لَّهُم مِّمَّا يَكْسِبُونَ So woe to those who write something down with their own hands and then claim, ‘This is from God,’ in order to make some small gain. Woe to them for what their hands have written! Woe to them for all that they have earned!
- 38:27 Sad وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَـٰطِلًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ It was not without purpose that We created the heavens and the earth and everything in between. That may be what the disbelievers assume- how they will suffer from the Fire!-
- 39:22 Az-Zumar أَفَمَن شَرَحَ ٱللَّهُ صَدْرَهُۥ لِلْإِسْلَـٰمِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْقَـٰسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مِّن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ What about the one whose heart God has opened in devotion to Him, so that he walks in light from his Lord? Alas for those whose hearts harden at the mention of God! They have clearly lost their way.
- 41:6 Fussilat قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَٱسْتَقِيمُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ۗ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُشْرِكِينَ Say [Prophet], ‘I am only a mortal like you, [but] it has been revealed to me that your God is One. Take the straight path to Him and seek His forgiveness. Woe to the idolaters,
- 41:7 Fussilat ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ كَـٰفِرُونَ who do not pay the prescribed alms and refuse to believe in the world to come!
- 43:65 Az-Zukhruf فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ Yet still the different factions among them disagreed- woe to the evildoers: they will suffer the torment of a grievous day!-
- 45:7 Al-Jathiyah وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ Woe to every lying sinful person
- 45:8 Al-Jathiyah يَسْمَعُ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ who hears God’s revelations being recited to him, yet persists in his arrogance as if he had never heard them––[Prophet] bring him news of a painful torment!––
- 45:9 Al-Jathiyah وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا شَيْـًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ who, if he knows anything about Our revelations, ridicules it! Such people will have a humiliating torment:
- 47:20 Muhammad وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَتْ سُورَةٌ ۖ فَإِذَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ مُّحْكَمَةٌ وَذُكِرَ فِيهَا ٱلْقِتَالُ ۙ رَأَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ نَظَرَ ٱلْمَغْشِىِّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۖ فَأَوْلَىٰ لَهُمْ Those who believe ask why no sura [about fighting] has been sent down. Yet when a decisive sura [that mentions fighting] is sent down, you can see the sick at heart looking at you [Prophet] and visibly fainting at the prospect of death- better for them
- 51:60 Adh-Dhariyat فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ and woe betide those who deny the truth on the Day they have been promised.
- 52:11 At-Tur فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe on that Day to those who deny the Truth,
- 52:12 At-Tur ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ who amuse themselves with idle chatter:
- 77:15 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 77:19 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 77:24 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 77:28 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 77:34 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 77:37 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 77:40 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 77:45 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 77:47 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 77:49 Al-Mursalat وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth!
- 83:1 Al-Mutaffifin وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ Woe to those who give short measure,
- 83:2 Al-Mutaffifin ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ who demand of other people full measure for themselves,
- 83:3 Al-Mutaffifin وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ but give less than they should when it is they who weigh or measure for others!
- 83:4 Al-Mutaffifin أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ Do these people not realize that they will be raised up
- 83:5 Al-Mutaffifin لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ on a mighty Day,
- 83:6 Al-Mutaffifin يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ a Day when everyone will stand before the Lord of the Worlds?
- 83:10 Al-Mutaffifin وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ Woe on that day to the deniers,
- 104:1 Al-Humazah وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ Woe to every fault-finding backbiter
- 104:2 Al-Humazah ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ who amasses riches, counting them over,
