Verses
- 12:53 Yusuf ۞ وَمَآ أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِىٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلنَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌۢ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ إِلَّا مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّىٓ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ I do not pretend to be blameless, for man’s very soul incites him to evil unless my Lord shows mercy: He is most forgiving, most merciful.’
- 31:28 Luqman مَّا خَلْقُكُمْ وَلَا بَعْثُكُمْ إِلَّا كَنَفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌۢ بَصِيرٌ Creating and resurrecting all of you is only like creating or resurrecting a single soul: God is all hearing and all seeing.
- 75:2 Al-Qiyamah وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ and by the self-reproaching soul!
- 86:4 At-Tariq إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ there is a watcher over every soul.
- 89:27 Al-Fajr يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ‘[But] you, soul at peace:
- 89:28 Al-Fajr ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً return to your Lord well pleased and well pleasing;
- 89:29 Al-Fajr فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَـٰدِى go in among My servants;
- 89:30 Al-Fajr وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى and into My Garden.’
- 91:7 Ash-Shams وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا by the soul and how He formed it
- 91:8 Ash-Shams فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا and inspired it [to know] its own rebellion and piety!
- 91:9 Ash-Shams قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا The one who purifies his soul succeeds
- 91:10 Ash-Shams وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا and the one who corrupts it fails.
