So I ask You, O Decider of affairs and Healer of the breasts, as You grant protection between the seas, to protect me from the punishment of the Blaze, from the call of destruction, and from the trial of the graves.

Allāhumma unzilu bika ḥājatī, wa in qaṣura raʾyī, wa ḍaʿufa ʿamalī, wa-ftaqartu ilā raḥmatika, fa-asʾaluka yā qāḍiya-l-umūr, wa yā shāfiya-ṣ-ṣudūr, kamā tujīru bayna-l-buḥūr an tujīranī min ʿadhābi-s-saʿīr, wa min daʿwati-th-thubūr, wa min fitnati-l-qubūr.

O Allah, I am weak, so strengthen me; I am lowly, so honor me; and I am poor, so enrich me.

Dua of Humble Entreaty from the Farewell Pilgrimage

O Allah, You hear my words, and see where I am, and know my secret and my open affairs; nothing of my matter is hidden from You. I am the wretched, the poor, the one who cries for help, the one who seeks refuge, the fearful, the apprehensive, the one who admits and acknowledges his sin. I ask You as the destitute asks, and I plead to You as the lowly sinner pleads, and I call upon You as the fearful and afflicted one calls, whose neck has humbled itself to You, whose eyes have overflowed for You, whose body has been humbled before You, and whose nose has been rubbed in the dust for You. O Allah, do not make me unfortunate in my supplication to You, and be kind and merciful to me, O Best of those who are asked and O Best of those who give.

Allāhumma innaka tasmaʿu kalāmī, wa-tarā makānī, wa-taʿlamu sirrī wa-ʿalāniyatī, lā yakhfā ʿalayka shayʾun min amrī, anā-l-bāʾisu-l-faqīru-l-mustaghīthu-l-mustajīru-l-wajilu-l-mushfiqu-l-muqirru-l-muʿtarifu bi-dhanbihi, asʾaluka masʾalata-l-miskīni wa-abtahilu ilayka ibtihāla-l-mudhnibi-dh-dhalīli, wa-adʿūka duʿāʾa-l-khāʾifi-ḍ-ḍarīri, man khashaʿat laka raqabatuhu, wa-fāḍat laka ʿaynāhu, wa-dhalla laka jasaduhu wa-raghima anfuhu laka. Dua of Complaint to Allah in Weakness

O Allah, to You I complain of the weakness of my strength, my lack of resourcefulness, and my lowliness before the people. O Most Merciful of those who show mercy, You are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy. To whom do You entrust me? To an enemy who scowls at me, or to a relative to whom You have given control over my affair? If You are not angry with me, I do not care; yet Your well-being is more spacious for me. I seek refuge in the light of Your Face, by which the darkness was illuminated and by which the affairs of this world and the Hereafter are set right, from Your anger descending upon me or Your wrath befalling me. To You belongs the right to be appeased until You are pleased. There is no might and no power except through You.

Allāhumma ilayka ashkū ḍaʿfa quwwatī, wa qillata ḥīlatī, wa hawānī ʿalā-n-nāsi, arḥama-r-rāḥimīna, anta arḥamu-r-rāḥimīna, ilā man takilunī, ilā ʿaduwwin yatajahhamunī aw ilā qarībin mallaktahu amrī, in lam takun ghaḍbāna ʿalayya fa lā ubālī, ghayra anna ʿāfiyataka awsaʿu lī, aʿūdhu bi-nūri wajhika-lladhī ashraqat lahu-ẓ-ẓulumātu, wa ṣalaḥa ʿalayhi amru-d-dunyā wa-l-ākhirati, an tunzila bī ghaḍabaka aw tuḥilla ʿalayya sakhaṭaka, laka-l-ʿutbā ḥattā tarḍā, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā bika.

Dhikr When Taking to Bed in Illness

There is no god but Allah; He gives life and causes death, and He is the Ever-Living who never dies. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the servants and the lands. All praise is for Allah, abundant, good and blessed praise, in every state. Allah is the Greatest, greatly so; the greatness of our Lord, His majesty and His power are in every place. O Allah, if You have made me ill so that You take my soul in this illness of mine, then place my soul among the souls of those for whom the best from You has already gone before.

Lā ilāha illā-llāhu, yuḥyī wa yumītu, wa huwa ḥayyu lā yamūtu, subḥāna-llāhi rabbi-l-ʿibādi wa-l-bilādi, wa-l-ḥamdu li-llāhi ḥamdan kathīran ṭayyiban mubārakan fīhi ʿalā kulli ḥālin, wa-llāhu akbaru kabīran, kibriyāʾu rabbinā wa jalāluhu wa qudratuhu bi-kulli makānin, Allāhumma in kunta amraḍtanī li-taqbiḍa rūḥī fī maraḍī hādhā, fa-jʿal rūḥī fī arwāḥi man qad sabaqat lahum minka-l-ḥusnā.

Dua for Fever

O Allah, have mercy on my thin bones and my delicate skin, and I seek refuge in You from the surge of the blaze. O Umm Mildam, if you have believed in Allah and the Last Day, do not eat the flesh and do not drink the blood, and do not bore into the mouth, and move on to whoever claims that there is another god with Allah. For I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muḥammad is His servant and His Messenger.

Dua When Illness Strikes

There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise; He gives life and causes death, and He is Ever-Living and does not die. Glory be to the Lord of the servants and the lands. All praise is due to Allah, abundant, good and blessed praise. The majesty of Allah, His grandeur and His greatness are in every place. O Allah, if You have decreed my death in this, then forgive me, bring me out of my sins, and settle me in the Garden of ʿAdn.
