- 9:82 التوبة فَلْيَضْحَكُوا۟ قَلِيلًا وَلْيَبْكُوا۟ كَثِيرًا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ Let them laugh a little; they will weep a lot in return for what they have done.
- 12:16 يوسف وَجَآءُوٓ أَبَاهُمْ عِشَآءً يَبْكُونَ and at nightfall they returned to their father weeping.
- 19:58 مريم أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩ These were the prophets God blessed- from the seed of Adam, of those We carried in the Ark with Noah, from the seed of Abraham and Israel- and those We guided and chose. When the revelations of the Lord of Mercy were recited to them, they fell to their knees and wept,
- 53:43 النجم وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ that it is He who makes people laugh and weep;
- 53:59 النجم أَفَمِنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ Do you [people] marvel at this?
- 53:60 النجم وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ Why do you laugh instead of weeping?
- 53:61 النجم وَأَنتُمْ سَـٰمِدُونَ Why do you pay no heed?
