- 3:163 آل عمران هُمْ دَرَجَـٰتٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ They are in a different class in God’s eyes; God sees exactly what they do.
- 6:86 الأنعام وَإِسْمَـٰعِيلَ وَٱلْيَسَعَ وَيُونُسَ وَلُوطًا ۚ وَكُلًّا فَضَّلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ Ishmael, Elisha, Jonah, and Lot. We favoured each one of them over other people,
- 10:98 يونس فَلَوْلَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ ءَامَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَآ إِيمَـٰنُهَآ إِلَّا قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّآ ءَامَنُوا۟ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْخِزْىِ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ If only a single town had believed and benefited from its belief! Only Jonah’s people did so, and when they believed, We relieved them of the punishment of disgrace in the life of this world, and let them enjoy life for a time.
- 21:87 الأنبياء وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَـٰضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَـٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ And remember the man with the whale,when he went off angrily, thinking We could not restrict him, but then he cried out in the deep darkness, ‘There is no God but You, glory be to You, I was wrong.’
- 21:88 الأنبياء فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُـۨجِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ We answered him and saved him from distress: this is how We save the faithful.
- 37:139 الصافات وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ Jonah too was one of the messengers.
- 37:140 الصافات إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ He fled to the overloaded ship.
- 37:141 الصافات فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ They cast lots, he suffered defeat,
- 37:142 الصافات فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ and a great fish swallowed him, for he had committed blameworthy acts.
- 37:143 الصافات فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ If he had not been one of those who glorified God,
- 37:144 الصافات لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ he would have stayed in its belly until the Day when all are raised up,
- 37:145 الصافات ۞ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ but We cast him out, sick, on to a barren shore,
- 37:146 الصافات وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ and made a gourd tree grow above him.
- 37:147 الصافات وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ We sent him to a hundred thousand people or more.
- 37:148 الصافات فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ They believed, so We let them live out their lives.
- 68:48 القلم فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ ٱلْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ Wait patiently [Prophet] for your Lord’s judgement: do not be like the man in the whale who called out in distress:
- 68:49 القلم لَّوْلَآ أَن تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ نِعْمَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ لَنُبِذَ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ if his Lord’s grace had not reached him, he would have been left, abandoned and blameworthy, on the barren shore,
- 68:50 القلم فَٱجْتَبَـٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ but his Lord chose him and made him one of the Righteous.
