About Laylat al-Qadr

Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree or Night of Power) is the holiest night in the Islamic calendar, occurring during the last ten nights of Ramadan. The 27th night of Ramadan 2026 (the most commonly sought night for Laylat al-Qadr) is expected around March 16, 2026. The Quran describes this night as "better than a thousand months" (Surah Al-Qadr, 97:3).

Laylat al-Qadr is the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Allah says in the Quran: "Indeed, We sent it [the Quran] down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what the Night of Decree is? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit [Jibreel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn" (97:1-5). Worship on this single night equals more than 83 years of worship.
