The Islamic New Year (also known as Hijri New Year) marks the beginning of the month of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar. The Islamic New Year 2026 is expected on June 16, 2026. It commemorates the Hijrah (migration) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Makkah to Madinah in 622 CE.
