۞ فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُ
بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ
وَهُوَ
سَقِيمٞ
١٤٥
but We cast him out, sick, on to a barren shore,

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا
عَلَيۡهِ
شَجَرَةٗ
مِّن
يَقۡطِينٖ
١٤٦
and made a gourd tree grow above him.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ
إِلَىٰ
مِاْئَةِ
أَلۡفٍ
أَوۡ
يَزِيدُونَ
١٤٧
We sent him to a hundred thousand people or more.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَـَٔامَنُواْ
فَمَتَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ
إِلَىٰ
حِينٖ
١٤٨
They believed, so We let them live out their lives.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ
أَلِرَبِّكَ
ٱلۡبَنَاتُ
وَلَهُمُ
ٱلۡبَنُونَ
١٤٩
Now [Muhammad], ask the disbelievers: is it true that your Lord has daughters, while they choose sons for themselves?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَمۡ
خَلَقۡنَا
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ
إِنَٰثٗا
وَهُمۡ
شَٰهِدُونَ
١٥٠
Did We create the angels as females while they were watching?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَلَآ
إِنَّهُم
مِّنۡ
إِفۡكِهِمۡ
لَيَقُولُونَ
١٥١
No indeed! It is one of their lies when they say,
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَلَدَ
ٱللَّهُ
وَإِنَّهُمۡ
لَكَٰذِبُونَ
١٥٢
‘God has begotten.’ How they lie!
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَصۡطَفَى
ٱلۡبَنَاتِ
عَلَى
ٱلۡبَنِينَ
١٥٣
Did He truly choose daughters in preference to sons?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
مَا
لَكُمۡ
كَيۡفَ
تَحۡكُمُونَ
١٥٤
What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgements?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَفَلَا
تَذَكَّرُونَ
١٥٥
Do you not reflect?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
أَمۡ
لَكُمۡ
سُلۡطَٰنٞ
مُّبِينٞ
١٥٦
Do you perhaps have clear authority?
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَأۡتُواْ
بِكِتَٰبِكُمۡ
إِن
كُنتُمۡ
صَٰدِقِينَ
١٥٧
Bring your scriptures, if you are telling the truth.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَجَعَلُواْ
بَيۡنَهُۥ
وَبَيۡنَ
ٱلۡجِنَّةِ
نَسَبٗاۚ
وَلَقَدۡ
عَلِمَتِ
ٱلۡجِنَّةُ
إِنَّهُمۡ
لَمُحۡضَرُونَ
١٥٨
They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be brought before Him.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
سُبۡحَٰنَ
ٱللَّهِ
عَمَّا
يَصِفُونَ
١٥٩
God is far above what they attribute to Him-
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
إِلَّا
عِبَادَ
ٱللَّهِ
ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
١٦٠
the true servants of God do not do such things-
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
فَإِنَّكُمۡ
وَمَا
تَعۡبُدُونَ
١٦١
and neither you nor what you worship
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
مَآ
أَنتُمۡ
عَلَيۡهِ
بِفَٰتِنِينَ
١٦٢
can lure away from God any
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
إِلَّا
مَنۡ
هُوَ
صَالِ
ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
١٦٣
except those who will burn in Hell.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
وَمَا
مِنَّآ
إِلَّا
لَهُۥ
مَقَامٞ
مَّعۡلُومٞ
١٦٤
[The angels say], ‘Every single one of us has his appointed place:
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
