Chile'da Eid al-Fitr 2026

Eid al-Fitr 2026 is expected on March 20, 2026. The date is confirmed upon the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon at the end of Ramadan. Celebrations typically last for three days.

Eid al-Fitr is celebrated on 1 Shawwal, the day after the last day of Ramadan. The date is determined by sighting the new crescent moon (hilal) at the end of Ramadan. If the moon is not sighted on the 29th of Ramadan, then Ramadan is completed as 30 days and Eid is celebrated the following day.

Zakat al-Fitr (also called Sadaqat al-Fitr) is an obligatory charity given before the Eid prayer. It is typically the equivalent of one sa' (approximately 2.5-3 kg) of staple food per person in the household. It purifies the fasting person from any shortcomings during Ramadan and provides food for those in need so they can celebrate Eid.

While the Eid prayer and primary celebrations occur on the first day, Eid al-Fitr is traditionally celebrated for three days. In many Muslim-majority countries, it is a public holiday for two to three days. Muslims visit family, share meals, exchange gifts, and celebrate the completion of Ramadan.
