Day of Arafah সম্পর্কে

The Day of Arafah falls on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, the day before Eid al-Adha. The Day of Arafah 2026 is expected on May 26, 2026. It is considered the best day of the entire year in Islam, when pilgrims gather at Mount Arafah and non-pilgrims are encouraged to fast.

The Day of Arafah is the most important day of the Hajj pilgrimage and one of the most sacred days in the Islamic calendar. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah." Standing at Arafah is the essential pillar of Hajj — without it, the pilgrimage is invalid. For non-pilgrims, fasting on this day expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.

What is the significance of the Day of Arafah?

The Day of Arafah is described in hadith as the day when Allah perfected the religion of Islam and completed His favor upon the believers. It is the day when Allah descends to the lowest heaven and expresses pride in the pilgrims to the angels. The Prophet (PBUH) said the best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafah.

Is fasting on the Day of Arafah recommended?

Yes, fasting on the Day of Arafah is highly recommended (mustahabb) for those who are not performing Hajj. The Prophet (PBUH) said: "Fasting on the Day of Arafah expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year" (Sahih Muslim). Pilgrims performing Hajj are advised not to fast, as they need their strength for the rituals.

What dua (supplication) should be made on the Day of Arafah?

The Prophet (PBUH) said: "The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafah, and the best thing that I and the Prophets before me said is: La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shay'in qadir (There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is able to do all things)."
